About Patrick

Patrick is an aviation systems engineer and technical leader with more than two decades of engineering experience, including 19 years in the defense industry and five years with an aerospace technology startup. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering and is a private pilot with airplane single-engine land and instrument ratings.

His experience spans aircraft systems integration, avionics and flight-deck development, embedded hardware, simulation and test environments, systems engineering, flight-test support, and multidisciplinary program execution.

Patrick combines detailed, hands-on engineering with a systems-level view of the aircraft. He understands how requirements, interfaces, hardware, software, laboratories, operations, and program constraints must come together to move a system successfully from concept through integration and flight.

He also brings practical aircraft-building and flight-development experience. Through Sparnas, he has developed aircraft electronics incorporating embedded control, sensing, fault protection, cockpit interfaces, mechanical packaging, and operational safety considerations.

Patrick founded Sparnas to help aviation organizations build effective development and integration capabilities, resolve difficult technical problems, and move programs forward. Clients work directly with Patrick throughout each engagement.
