FCM-4S

Flaps Control Module

The FCM-4S is a stand-alone solution for control of electric wing flaps.  The internal microprocessor reads the position reported by the flaps motor or an external sensor, and displays the real-time position on the front panel LEDs. A four-position switch with ball-bearing detents allows for one-touch changes to your flaps.

Built to Last

The switch mechanism uses optical sensors instead of traditional metal contacts or potentiometers that degrade with age and use. Surface mount device (SMD) electronics withstand engine vibration.

Safety Designed In

The controller continuously monitors for and protects against wiring and motor overload faults. Airspeed lockouts can be programmed to prevent structural damage from inadvertent flaps deployment1,2

Designed for the Environment

Cockpits can get hot. The FCM series uses automotive-grade components designed to operate across a wide temperature range, at least -40° to +85°C.

Clean Look

The FCM-4S fits in with the design aesthetic of modern glass instruments. The fascia sits flush with the front of the instrument panel.

PWM Motor Control

Gradually starts and stops the motor to achieve fine positioning control

Reverse Voltage Protection

Prevents damage to the controller or your flaps motor in case battery is connected reversed

14V and 28V Compatible

Internal power supply regulates the power to the controller’s electronics from as little as 8V up to 30V

No Other Boxes To Install

The controller you mount on the instrument panel is all you need

USB Programming

A micro-USB port facilitates programming of all features with a PC laptop and free utility (see support section to download)

Simple Installation

A standard D-sub 9-pin connector is common to many other avionics, eliminating the need for expensive tools. The controller mounts to a panel with standard #6-32 fasteners.
